About Us

We are graduates of the four-year baccalaureate Midwifery Education Program at McMaster, Ryerson and Laurentian Universities. We have been working in a variety of rural and urban settings with a diverse clientele.

Our clinic is located in Carleton Place, about 20 minutes from Kanata along highway 7 west Directions

Our small practice of five midwives work within a model of shared care. This means women receive care from a team of 2-3 midwives. By having prenatal visits with each midwife, women will have a relationship established with the midwife that is available to care for them in labour or in urgent situations.

Ottawa Valley Midwives is a teaching practice. We are committed to promoting the growth of midwifery in Ontario by providing learning opportunities for students of the Midwifery Education Program.
